. Mr. Bharat Ram hails from the renowned business family of Delhi, the owner of the famous Shri Ram Group and DCM with a legacy of more than 100 years beginning from his father Sir Lala Shri Ram.

from St. Stephen's College, Delhi
. After his graduation, he joined Delhi Cloth and General Mills Co Ltd (now DCM Ltd) in 1935 as an apprentice and rose to the position of chairman and managing director in 1958. He had also set up Shri Ram Fertilizers.
In 1989 there was the three-way split among three sons - Murli Dhar, Charat ram, and Bharat Ram - of the Lala Sri Ram family. Bharat Ram saw to it that it was an amicable split and all got their rightful share. Bharat Ram, it seems, had anticipated that the ambitions of all his three sons -- Vinay, Arun and Vivek -- could not be accommodated within DCM. So, he had set up Shriram Fibres (now known as SRF Ltd) way back in 1970.
His family member Manju Bharat Ram founded the The Shri Ram School
in July 1988 under the aegis of SRF Ltd. and now the SRF Foundation.
Bharat Ram, the last surviving son of Sir Shri Ram, died in a Delhi hospital on July 11 2007 night, two months after his younger brother, Lala Charat Ram.
His son, Mr. Arun Bharat Ram is now the owner of the famous Shri Ram Group and DCM.
