Bill Brown is an American
baseball announcer who has been with the Houston Astros
since 1987. He is often called "Brownie" by his play by play partner Jim Deshaies
. He has developed a reputation for being a solid broadcaster that often plays the part of the straight man to Deshaies' humorous asides. Brown was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame
on November 12. 2004.
