. He also founded the Fresh Writers Books writing competition, an annual competition that awards summer internships and book publishing contracts to high school students.
While an employee at Telxon in 1999, Jelen co-invented a system for ordering groceries over the Internet and was awarded U.S. patent 6,129,176.
