The founder and mascot is josh thomas who regularly comes out of the changing rooms on all fours on a lead led by the captain, his grandfather is the main man at the blackwood fireworks show he regularly lets them of to katy perry fireworks to a full house in the bulldog arena.

They experienced a poor season in 2010 when they were unable to raise a team on several occasions. In 2011, they will play in the second tier of Welsh amateur rugby league.
