History
Blart lives with his grandfather on a pig farm in total exile. He never went to school because his grandfather told the local townspeople that Blart has a contagious disease that doesn't effect relatives, and does not know how to tie ropes as his grandfather fears being hanged by his own grandson. As Blart himself said this, the authenticity of that fact is to be doubted as he could easily have been creating an excuse not to be tying one particular rope in the book. This resulted in no one giving him a proper education. Blart is seen as stupid because of this, however although ignorant and selfish he is very good at talking his way out of difficult circumstances and is able to prolong his own life by using his initave this usually involves betraying the others for example he offered to join zoltab's army when captured. He is also knowledgeable about caring for pigs and seems to know more than his grandfather. He can have rare bursts of intellence for example in the second book he is able to think of a way to hide his companions by having Capablanca turn them int pig's so they could hide in the sty he also shows more intelligence in the third book as he is forced into a position of authority. His only friends are his grandfather's two prized pigs, Wattle and Daub. He is thought to be the chosen, as he is thought to be the first born child at the time of the novel in his family's generation. This is how he comes to be on the quest to defeat ZoltabZoltab

Appearance
In the novel, Blart's figure is described as not being very prepossessing; His head is too big, his eyes are too small and close together and his nose looks as if it has been squashed into his face. His mouth constantly hangs open. His body seems too short but his legs are too long, and the clothes he wears through the entire novel are too small and constantly cluttered with dirt and mud. His image is insulted frequently in the novel, a notable insult being Princess Lois's remark 'WeaselWeasel

Personality
Blart is very lazy and is very stubborn when it comes to work, unless it involves pigs. His stubbornness is a constant annoyance to the company and a serious casualty on the quest. Blart is also a coward though, and will probably admit to anything if threatened. He would even betray his friends for his own life. He is not very resilient and moans in desperation when times of danger or hardship arise. He also gets hungry easily and moans if it is not tended to.Blarts holds a special bond with pigs, particularly his grandfather's prize pigs Wattle and Daub. When living with his grandfather he spent most of his time with the pigs. They were his only friends and he regards them above humans. He sometimes wishes he was a pig, as seen when Capablanca threatens to turn him into one and he is excited about the idea. He seems upset when he is told that Wattle and Daub are killed. At one point in the book he fantasizes about owning a kingdom of pigs.
Capablanca
Blart resents ever meeting Capablanca. It is Capablanca who forces him to come on the quest. He is sour with him and constantly mocks him. He finds his pain amusing, but is still fearful of his magical powers.
However in the third book he is upset about the wizard's apparent death showing that although they don't get on he has developed some fondness towards him.
Beowulf
Beowulf is another person who Blart fears. When they first meet, Beowulf threatens to kill him but puts it on hold when he learns that Blart knows no prayers, and gives him time to learn some. He is a big, burly man but due to a diet composed mainly of pies and ale (at one point in "Blart, the boy who didn't want to save the world",he gives away all his information after having drunken 10 tankards of ale)he has a more than ample stomach and now finds it hard to get up most mornings. His frien-er-acquaintances, call him Beo.Princess Lois
Blart shows some affection towards Princess Lois. He admires her negative and insulting manner, and he never insults her, instead constantly agreeing with her point of view, usually ending up with another nasty remark thrown at him, but this just increases his affection towards her. They marry in the sequel to follow the instructions of a prophecy, which states that the husband of the betrothed of Zoltab has the power to vanquish him. However, in the third book when Princess Lois - the very night after her marriage - returns home with Blart she is kidnapped by the father of Anthony the handsome in the night. He is only using his son because prothecy states he will win a war with the city if the marriage takes place. Blart is forced to go on a quest to save her iflunced largely by Beo threatening him with his sword. It is revealed that Blart must die when he returns with her to the city or there will be war.
