Encyclopedia
Blazing Teens is a Chinese TV show
. It is about high schools that hold Yo-Yo
contests. It was created in 2006. Unlike other shows in China
that were never released (or translated) in any other languages and other countries, this kid show was actually released outside of China and it is translated into Latin and English. It plays on POGO (India) in India
& Cartoon Network
in Pakistan
.
These high schools construct teams and participate in competitions to win against other schools. Each team has their own conflict and issues that they solve. Often, tight friendship bonds are made between competitors.
This show has seasons as each section. This is known as Blazing Teens 1-4. There are three seasons that have been translated. Two of these (I and II) are live-action shows. III is an animation. Two newly released versions are III (live-show) and IV (animation). Blazing Teens IV or Blazing Teens III (live-show) cannot currently be found on many websites, because it has not been translated from Chinese yet.
Each Yo-Yo has a name that, in some ways, reflects the toy's design. The show uses some special effects (small but satisfying ones) to make the very fast speed of the Yo-yos and the "magic spells" the Yo-yos make. These magic spells are 'battling' and the person whose magic stands longer, wins.
This show was made to promote yo-yoing in China. The Auldey Channel has several programmes and promotional advertisements on these yo-yos, encouraging people, particularly children and teenagers to buy yo-yos and try the tricks. This show's yo-yos are based around those sold in China.
Blazing Teens I
The main characters are: Mini, Mark, Leon and Michael. Leon is the protagonist
and Michael is the antagonist
. Some of The Yo-Yo tricks are pretty common, like the Forward Pass, Loop-the-Loop, Three-Leaf-clover, Trapeze, Double or Nothing, Gravity Pull, etc. The show also has some tricks of its own created by the producers (most of the tricks are for professionals) like the White Buddha, Buddha's Revenge and the Cold Fusion (hardest trick of Season one). Needs Confirmation and More Information
Blazing Teens II
The logo is "Blazing Teens 2". The main characters are the same as Blazing Teens II. There are 26 episodes in total. Needs Information.
Blazing Teens III
The logo is still "Blazing Teens".
The main characters are: Jacky [yaojie] and Liam[lingliang]. Their teammates are: Ken, Jerry[bijiale] and Lily[luoli]. Sandy[yanshuang] is a girl who makes new yo-yos for the team members. They are all part of the Blazing Team. Jacky is their team leader.
Jacky and Liam are not fond of each other. Liam is arrogant and when he got into the Blazing Team, he leaves. After more conflict, Jacky drives Liam away from the team. Liam suddenly learns that he has to take part in the Fire Cup yoyo competition. Ken and Jerry gradually decide to give him another choice but when Liam's father comes along, there is misunderstandment. More happens.
Meanwhile, Dylan[dilan], a world-class champion comes to China with the hope of making a team with the strongest players and thus prove that only Western skills should be counted as 'true yo-yo' skills and the Chinese skills would never come close to the advanced skills of the Western.
Liam, Lily and their friends (Sean[heshun], Onion[yangchong] and Charles) try to make amends between Jacky and Ray[buore] (Super Tornado's team leader and Onion and Charles' leader) because of a misunderstandment from the last National Competition. They try to do this to stop Dylan from achieving his 'evil' ambition.
Dylan leads the Falcon Team. Lily is dispised by her cousin, Takashi, from the Falcon Team. The Blazing Team's final aim is to beat Falcon Team and prove that Chinese techniques are not worse than that of the Western.
Throughout this season there is a constant mention about 'the true meaning of yo-yoing' which is something about enjoying and having fun rather than yo-yoing is for tools. After the National Competitions, there is a lead in to Blazing Teens IV, about the masked yo-yoers. These people are Dylan's team from where he came from.
Blazing Teens IV
The logo is "Blazing Teens 2"
This part is once again about Liam and Jacky. This time they are looking for new team members (from 1A - 5A) to take part in an international yo-yo competition. Their old team mates are overseas (stated in Blazing teens III) so they can not take part.
However, there are two people from Dylan's team that are trying to stop them from finding team members. One of them is the girl (5A player). (nicknames below)
The 5A player is actually one of the masked players (Dylan's team). She causes havoc and drives Sandy out of the team. It is also likely that Jacky somewhat likes [Ma Li Na]. [Ma Li Na] continues causing havoc for the Blazing team, even after she is not in it.
