The school is called "Blessed George Napier" after the Saint, George Napier. This saint is the patron of the school, and there are memorial plaques on the outside of the school, depicting his death.
The school is one of only two Catholic state secondary schools in Oxfordshire, the other one being St. Gregory's in Oxford
. It boasts some of the highest grade results in the area, and has won awards for its cooking. It also has a very successful Youth choir who fundraise around the county during the Christmas period and regularly tour abroad. Past destinations include Austria, Prague and Barcelona in 2008.
