The building is very identifiably an Alsop creation, making use of colour and unusual forms. Within the glass pavilion are three suspended 'pods', housing meeting spaces, a small lecture theatre and an education centre. The main lecture theatre is almost entirely green with a few red chairs spotted around to suggest poppies in a meadow.
