Bojkovice (ˈbojkovɪtsɛ) is a town in the Zlín Region
of the Czech Republic
. It is part of the region of Slovácko, which is more a traditional than administrative unit. With its population of 4760 people it ranks among the smaller towns of the Czech Republic.
It lies in the White Carpathian Mountains, which has the status of a protected landscape area.
The region started to flourish again in the 19th century (e.g. the railroad and the electricity were brought there). During World War II, it was occupied by Germans and the local factory was converted to suit the needs of war industry.
Officially, the town was given its status in 1965.

History
The history of the town dates back to the 11th century when it was just a small village. It was promoted to the status of a town in 1449. In the 16th century, the town was attacked and plundred by the Hungarians and periods of hunger and famine came.The region started to flourish again in the 19th century (e.g. the railroad and the electricity were brought there). During World War II, it was occupied by Germans and the local factory was converted to suit the needs of war industry.
Officially, the town was given its status in 1965.
