In March 2005, Harrah's purchased the property and several surrounding properties to acquire an 8 acre (3.2 ha) land parcel just off the Strip and adjacent to a Las Vegas Monorail
station.
The casino was closed in October 2005. Demolition work on the property began the following January. The tower was imploded on February 14, 2006.
The property where Bourbon Street formerly stood is currently vacant. As of 2010, no plans exist for the lot.
