In 2004, a steel bridge over the falls was washed away by floods. In October 2010 a new, 20-tonne wood-and-copper one, spanning 20m across a very deep gorge, was hauled into place by hand because its location made it impossible to use a crane. In July 2011 this new bridge was awarded at the International Footbridge Awards. It was seen in the British comedy film Monty Python and the Holy Grail
