 games involving the aforementioned teams which are not available through other broadcast or cable channels. Although Breakaway is the corporate and licensee name, it is never used on air, only the individual service names including Canucks TV, Oilers PPV and Flames PPV.

The service is not presently operating – Rogers Sportsnet One

 has secured long-term deals for the packages of Canucks, Oilers, and Flames regional broadcasts previously allocated to Breakaway, beginning with the 2010-11 NHL season. The service's licence from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has not yet been revoked, although Breakaway is not expected to resume operations before the said licence expires on August 31, 2012.
