Choi's next fight was at Martial Combat 11 on October 15, 2011. He defeated Chinese fighter Jin Gang Wang by submission with a Kimura in the first round.

On June 16, 2011 it was announced that Choi would be taking on experienced French fighter Sebastian Garguier at DARE Championship 1/11. Choi took the fight at less than a week's notice but was able to win a decision against Garguier, who missed weight.
