Brian Goggin is the former (2005) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank of Ireland

's second largest bank. He took over from Michael Soden in June 2004.
He was due to retire in summer 2009 after forty years with Bank of Ireland. He instead retired in February 2009, two days before the Bank of Ireland robbery by which time Richie Boucher
had replaced him. His main legacy came in 2008 when he persuaded the Irish government to bail out the irish banks to the tune of 400 Billion. This has resulted in the destruction of the irish economy and the bailout by the IMF and ECB in 2010.
