, 92 acres (372,311.1 m²) of mostly mature forest was dedicated into the preserve system on March 14, 1985. Another 88 acres (356,123.7 m²) were dedicated on June 12, 2001. Including another 1 acres (4,046.9 m²) tract, a total of 181 acre (0.73248166 km²) are protected.
The rich woodlands contain an impressive array of spring wildflowers including several species that are considered rare or uncommon. The preserve also provides habitat for many resident and migratory birds.
