 each year. The first BritWeek was in 2007, in September. But for the last two years BritWeek has been held in the spring, late April to early May. The dates for BritWeek 2010 are April 20 to May 9. BritWeek 2010 will also include San Francisco for the first time.

This, plus the large British presence in the state, and the number of Brits prominent in key professions, have all contributed to the rapid growth of BritWeek. In the three years of the event's existence, it has become a strong media brand.

BritWeek runs for about three weeks. The founders are unapologetic about this and have shown no disposition to change its name.
