. Brooklawn has a population of over 900 students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Its faculty includes over 100 teachers and other educational professionals. Built in 1965, Brooklawn serves the western portion of Parsippany, with most of its students attending Parsippany Hills High School
after completing eighth grade.

The Brooklawn softball team placed first which is very good ; in the GMCJSCA 2005 and 2006 tournaments, came in second place in 2007, and placed first in 2008. The Brooklawn baseball team placed first in the GMCJSCA in 2008, and placed second in 2006 and placed second in 2009. The Boys Baseball team placed first in their league in 2009, nearly going undefeated. The boys soccer team also won the championship in the 2010 season. This year in 2011, the boys soccer team again won the championship. Additionally, the girls basketball team also won a championship.
They also have a huge cross town arch-rival with Central Middle School.
The Brooklawn Student Council has won numerous awards at both the state and national level. At the State level, there have been State Charity $2000 or $5000 Club awards along with Community Smile service awards every year since 1997. The five year Standards of Excellence award has been presented to Brooklawn in 1999, 2004, and 2009. Four activities at Brooklawn have been presented the State Top Ten Projects award, Brooklawn's Intense Games (also called B.I.G. Night) in 2001, the B.L.T. Saturday leadership training conference in 2004, Volleyball Night at Brooklawn in 2006, and the Serve The Soldiers project in 2011.
At the National level, the Brooklawn Student Council was recognized in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 as a National Gold Council of Excellence by the National Association of Student Councils (NASC) for excellence in local, state, and national activities. Brooklawn is one of only 2 middle schools in the United States (the other being Blanchard Middle School in Massachusetts) to receive 6 consecutive awards and this achievement. In 2010, the Alliance for Student Activities selected the Brooklawn Student Council for its national DifferenceMakers' Award, presented by Alliance Founder and President Mike Smith in a personal speaking appearance at the school on January 6, 2011. This award was presented in honor of the Serve The Soldiers project, in which the Brooklawn Student Council collected, organized, and shipped numerous boxes of personal items to an army unit in Afghanistan.
Each student takes five academics: math, science, English, social studies, and reading writing. They also take one elective each marking period. They could choose from woods, metals, computers, multimedia, mechanical drawing, robotics, or art. Instead of taking these electives they may also take chorus or band. They are mandatory language classes which are either Italian, Spanish or French. Finally, all students have gym and lunch totaling to a grand total of 9 periods a day, making the day last 6 hours.

2008 Expansion
Brooklawn Middle School received a new Media Center,several new classrooms,and a relocated main office which opened in September 2008.2010 Enhancement
During the 2010-2011 time frame, Brooklawn Middle School received new high tech touch boards and projectors for the teachers to use in their classrooms. This made teaching quicker, more accurate, and most importantly, funner. Both staff members and students have gotten use to the new devices, and most find it easy to use.Athletics
Students from Brooklawn participate in a wide variety of sports. Student Council
The Brooklawn Student Council is active in the New Jersey Association of Student Councils (NJASC), and in recent years has had two students elected as State Officers - Christina Blanco in 2003 and Alex Gallego in 2005. Alex would later be elected as State President in 2009. Both Christina and Alex, now in college, along with many other Brooklawn alumni still serve the NJASC as junior and senior staff members of its annual Leadership Training Conference (LTC).The Brooklawn Student Council has won numerous awards at both the state and national level. Student life
Each day, students arrive at school before the starting bell at 7:59 am. From there they follow this bell schedule over nine 40 minute periods with three minutes between each class.| Time | Period |
