. Built in 1880 by Nichols Powers, famed Vermont Bridgewright, also builder of Blenheim Bridge, recently lost to flooding in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene. Clarendon was the hometown of Mr. Powers and it is thought the Brown was perhaps the last bridge built in a forty five year bridgewrighting career.
