The Points Northeast Historical Society rents out the keeper's cottage, and the renter serves as an honorary "light keeper" and opens the lighthouse for tours on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
The Society also operates two museums by the lighthouse. The History Center features changing historical exhibits, and the Boat House Museum displays a replica surfboat and maritime artifacts.
