Bruce Goodwin is a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives

Goodwin has worked in education for nearly 40 years, and has served as director of the Four County Career Center, chairman of the State Legislative Committee for the Ohio Career and Technical Association, chairman of the State Board of Directors for Trade and Industry, as well as a member of the State Board of Directors for student services.
He has been married 41 years to his wife Marlene, who currently serves as the Defiance County auditor. He has two daughters and two grandchildren.

, Goodwin entered the race to replace him. He faced three other Republicans for the nomination in 2006, but ultimately won the primary with 28.61% of the vote. He went on to face Democrat Ben McCullough in the general election, but won with 54.69% of the vote.
In his 2008 reelection bid, Goodwin was unopposed for the nomination, and went on to win against Democrat David Pilliod with 62.55% of the vote.
Goodwin faced primary opposition against Jim Volkert in 2010, but ended up sealing the nomination with 69.19% of the vote. He went on to win the general election against David Pilliod again with 69.01%, and was seated for his third term on January 3, 2011. Upon Senator Steve Buehrer

For the 129th General Assembly, Goodwin is serving on the committees of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Health and Aging (as vice chair) and its Subcommittee on Retirement and Pensions, and Public Utilities. Goodwin is also serving as a member of the Turnpike Legislative Review Committee.
Goodwin has been targeted recently by proponents of collective bargaining
reform in radio ads due to the uncertainty of his stance on the issue.
