 (CDP), with a population of 16,293 as of 2010. It is here that Buckhall School (formally Oak Hill School), a one room school house, was built in 1865. Adjacent to the site of the school, a general store was built (ca. 1900) which was destroyed by a fire August 21, 2007. On October 1, 2008 The Buckhall store was re-opened under a new management. The Buckhall Church (now Buckhall United Methodist Church) was built nearby circa 1905, and still stands as of 2007. The church was expanded in 1988 and further expansion was completed in April 2007.

The name Buckhall originates from the large number of bucks that inhabited the area at the end of the Civil War. The name was coined by Capt. Thomas J. Moore, who fell in love with the area after fighting for the Union

. Capt. Moore also was the construction foreman for the original Buckhall Church building. Prior to being called Buckhall, the area was known as Oak Hill. The Oak Hill Church stood where the graveyard is until the 1930s when it was torn down and its membership transferred to Grace United Methodist in town.

The main road that runs through Buckhall, Moore Drive, is named after Capt. Moore, and his original residence was demolished in or about 1991.

The Buckhall Voulnteer Fire Department is located on Yates Ford Road (formerly Davis Ford Road) near its intersection with Prince William Parkway.

On October 2, 2008, the newly remodeled Buckhall General Store reopened for business.
