Budal is a former municipality in Sør-Trøndelag
county, Norway
. It encompassed the Bua and Ena river valleys in the south-central part of the present-day municipality of Midtre Gauldal
. The administrative center of Budal was the village of Enodden
where the Budal Church
was also located.

). Initially, Budal had a population of 585. On 1 January 1964, Budal was merged together with the municipalities of Singsås

, and Støren
to form the new municipality of Midtre Gauldal
