. Bukkapatnam has an area of 351.17km²,and a population of 37,635. The highest mountain of the Mallappakonda district is four miles to north of Bukkapatnam it is 3002 feet (915 m) tall. The Lord Shiva Temple and Lord Hanuman Temple are located on the mountain.

Cheruvu (reservoir)

The largest reservoir in the district is the Bukkapatanam Reservoir. The total area of the reservoir is 3500 acres (14 km²). This water is used for agricultural purposes. Nearly 5000 acres (20.2 km²) of land is cultivated under this reservoir. The reservoir is filled with water from the Chitravathi River. This river enters the district near Kodikonda and flows north over the rocky and hilly uplands of Gorantla
