Bundang Line

Bundang Line is a commuter subway
line of Korail
, the national railway of South Korea
. The name 'Bundang Line' refers to the fact that the line was constructed for the commuters of Bundang
ward in Seongnam
. The line starts in southeastern Seoul
, travels through northern Seongnam
, and finally reaches the northern end of Yongin
. Originally opened in September 1994 between Suseo
and Ori
, it was extended from Suseo
to Seolleung
in September 2003, and from Ori
to Bojeong
in November 2004.
On November 26, 2004, a temporary terminal station called Bojeong
was opened near the Bundang Line Train Depot
. More recently, on December 24, 2007, Jukjeon Station
was opened between Ori
and Bojeong
Stations.

, and another half for Jukjeon
.
The Bundang Line uses Korail Class 351000 trains. The rolling stock is the same class used on Line 4
(though the Line 4 trains are known as Class 341000) because they were originally classified as Korail Class 2030. First generation trains were introduced since the line's opening, second generation train were introduced when the Bundang Line was extended from Suseo to Seolleung in 2003 and in the future, third generation trains will be introduced when the Bundang Line is extended southward.

Future plans
The current operational section is actually only a part of what it will be in the future, as it is being actively extended in both directions.- A 6.6 km extension from Seolleung to Wangsimni, including three entirely new stations, was scheduled to open in 2011 but has possibly been pushed back to June 2012. Construction signs showing both opening dates can be seen within Gangnam-gu Office Station. The link will intersect with a few lines in the Seoul Subway:
