The company was formed on the basis of Kazakhstan Expedition No 9 whose history dates back to 1946. In 1965 it was transformed to Burundai United Aviation Division. In 1997 the division became the Regional Service Airline Burundaiavia, and in October 2002 JSC "Airline "Burundaiavia" was founded on the basis of this airline
