, and hosted a public access television show focusing on public and political affairs in the black community. He attended Macon public schools and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Leo College. He is married to Tishangi Ellis and the father of five children. C. Jack Ellis is currently seeking the mayorship of Macon, Georgia again. He was registered for the mayoral race at the Bibb County Board of Elections on Monday, June 6, 2011. On Tuesday, July 19th Former Mayor C. Jack Ellis received 38 percent of the vote with Macon's current Mayor receiving 48 percent of the vote. In Macon, a mayoral candidate must receive over 50 percent of the vote to win the seat outright. Mayor vs Ex-Mayor are in a runoff election set for August 16th.

Ellis changed his name to Hakim Mansour Ellis upon his conversion to Islam, only to abandon Islam a short while afterward. Divorced wife and married woman 20+ years younger than him. Took expensive trips out of the country on the taxpayer's bill while City of Macon was financially strapped. Mr. Ellis had a judgment levied against him for clothing that he and his wife 'borrowed' from a local clothier under the guise that the store had lent them the garments for his wife to wear in her capacity as "First Lady of Macon".
Mr. Ellis fathered a child with another woman while he was married only to have that woman sue him for child support and medical bills related to the birth of his child.

Accomplishments and controversies while in office

Ellis's administration was responsible for approximately $1 million in loans to disadvantaged businesses.

His administration constructed over 200 new affordable housing units and eliminated over 2000 sub-standard houses and collaborated with other organizations to build over 100 new lofts in downtown Macon. Also during Ellis's administration, the city of Macon was designated as a city of excellence by the Georgia Municipal Association and awarded the City Livability Award by the US Conference of Mayors. First Lady Laura Bush designated Macon as a "Preserve American Community."
In April 2007, Ellis announced that he had been appointed honorary consul for the African nation of Uganda

The C. Jack Ellis Youth Foundation continues to assist underprivileged and special needs children in America, the Caribbean, and Africa. Mayor Ellis also serves on the Board of Directors for the African Diaspora Heritage Trail of Bermuda.
