History

Cadred was originally based around a community which grew with an old Finnish

 eSports team, Insignia Cadre. In July 2007 it was decided that the team would continue to operate at the InsigniaCadre.org domain, while the coverage and community site would continue at Cadred.org.

On 23 June 2008 it was announced that the Cadred brand had been sold to Heaven Media Group, in a deal apparently worth over £150,000.

Site Functions

Cadred currently covers three major eSports games, and these are Counter-Strike: Source

 to provide live score updates, media and features from a tournament.

Cadred also acts as a hub for the community, with hundreds of forum topics being created each week, and around 20,000 user comments per week. Users from all over the world gather to discuss any topic, be it gaming related or not, as well as to discuss the news, coverage and features written by Cadred's staff or volunteers.

Website Versions

The current Cadred.org website is the third version used, both for code and design. A new "v4" website has been talked about by staff since mid 2008, but so far no concrete timeline has been announced. It is currently believed to be due late 2009 or early 2010.
