 track was temporarily built in the woods behind the female cabins, although the track was later converted into the Romans Road. And in 2008, a helipad

 was added on top of the gym to accommodate yearly visits from JAARS.

In 2008 the Rahe Family began their take over of Camp Carl. However, poor planning and a lack of basic mountain biking skills brought their hostile takeover to an end in 2011. Mike Landis still maintains his position as director, never again to be challenged by the Rahe clan. This can be compared to the similarly ill-fated attempt by the Weigel Family to take over Camp Carl. Although their manliness far exceeded that of the Rahe's, their attempt fell apart when their leader Nathaniel was seduced and he turned his attention to marriage.
