Camp Desoto holds two four-week sessions each summer, each at a cost of $3800. Girls at Desoto are assigned to tribes (Cherokee, Creek, or Chickasaw), which compete against one another in athletic, drama, and singing competitions. In addition, girls take trips to various destinations across the Southeast throughout the term, including white-water rafting on the Ocoee River or the Nantahala River, visiting Ruby Falls, and going to the aquarium in Chattanooga.
Desoto is a place where traditions are held dear. For example, campers by tradition wear all white to the campus church service each Sunday and walk in singing the hymn "Onward Christian Soldiers".
