According to the singer, the song is about the spark, or candy which is there at the beginning of every relationship but leaves after a while. It's about finding that spark again and thus saving the relationship. It was inspired by Nutini's relationship with his childhood sweetheart and current girlfriend Teri Brogan.Release and Chart Performance
