The martyrs - John Bland and John Frankesh (ministers and preachers of the gospel), Nicholas Sheterden (rector of Adesham and Humphrey Middleton (vicar of Rolvindon) - were all burnt together in Canterbury, Kent. According to Foxe, they resigned themselves with Christian fortitude, fervently praying that God would receive them into his heavenly kingdom.
