Carl Wille Schnitler was a Norwegian art historian.
He was born in Brandval
as a son of vicar Hans Peter Schnitler (1836–1894) and Marine Sophie Petrea Wille (1848–1919). He was a descendant of Peter Schnitler and a first cousin once removed of Didrik Schnitler. In July 1926 he married Elisabeth Konow Bruenech (1898–1994).
Among his works is Slegten fra 1814 from 1911. He was an art critic for the newspaper Aftenposten
, and was appointed professor at the University of Oslo
in 1921.
