 Magazine (1994–2005), and served as its publisher and editor-in-chief. She also produced two critically acclaimed ROCKRGRL Music Conferences in 2000 and 2005 for the purpose of building a sense of community for women in music. In 2010, she founded Musicians for Equal Opportunities for Women, an organization dedicated to making women’s voices heard in all genres of music.

DeSantis lectures extensively on the topic of gender disparity in rock, and has written for numerous publications, including Rolling Stone
