Encyclopedia
Carndonagh Community School is a secondary school located in Carndonagh, County Donegal
, Ireland
. The school was formed in the 1970s when a small local boys' school and similar convent school for girls amalgamated with a large established co-educational school - Carndonagh Vocational School - to form the present school. Education at the school is based on the Irish Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate curricula.
The school once claimed to be the largest secondary school in the country, however, the creation of a new secondary school in Moville (and other roll-related factors) led to a decrease in the stated student numbers.
