Laine was first elected in 2006, opting to run after three-term Rep. Barb Goodwin decided not to seek re-election, and was re-elected in 2008 and 2010. She is currently a member of the House Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight Committee, and also serves on the Finance subcommittees for the Early Childhood Finance and Policy Division, the Housing Finance and Policy and Public Health Finance Division, of which she is vice chair, and the Public Safety Finance Division.
