Casey Barnes is an Australian singer-songwriter from Gold Coast, Queensland
who rose to fame as a contestant on the 2009 season of Australian Idol

auditions. Barnes received great feedback from the judges and went on to compete in the semi-finals. Barnes performed in the second week of the semi-finals, in group 2, but lost the advance to the top-12 to Ashleigh Toole and Nathan Brake but was announced that he would be a contender in the wildcard show, alongside fellow contestant Lauren Street. On the wildcard show, Barnes lost the public vote to the top-12 but made it through the judges' picks. Barnes was eliminated in the top-11 show on 20 September 2009.
