for some time before making her first appearance and was a classmate of Liam Tanner and Joey Rainbow. Joey took a liking to Casey when he first saw her while she only had eyes for Liam. She briefly looked as though she might be in with a chance until his girlfriend Stephanie Mboto
suddenly returned to the Bay. Despite this unpromising start, the four of them soon became good friends.
Although outwardly confident, Casey had a troubled home life - her father had walked out on them and her mother had become increasingly unstable ever since. Casey said that her mother seemed normal most of the time but then said something inexplicable and proved to be telling the truth when in the middle of an otherwise unremarkable conversation with Donald Fisher her mother casually explained that Casey was dead and the girl sitting next to her was a demon in her form. Fearing that Casey was in danger, Stephanie persuaded her guardians Travis Nash
and Kelly Watson to let her move in with them.
Casey still held out hopes of rebuilding a relationship with her mother and accepted an invitation to go round there - only for her mother and an associate to attempt to perform an exorcism, by trying to force her to drink an unpleasant and probably poisonous liquid. Fortunately Joey arrived in time to rescue her and she rewarded him with the pair's one and only kiss. She made one final attempt to rebuild her family when her father returned to the area but after her mother had a complete breakdown in the Diner they had no choice but to have her admitted for psychiatric care.
Casey formed a surprising bond with Rebecca Fisher
, despite the fact she had been having an affair with her father and partly contributed to her mother's breakdown, and was the first to realise she had feelings for Travis. Rebecca and Marilyn were able to convince Don to let Casey move in with them on a permanent basis. He was partly convinced by the fact that Casey, like Rebecca, was an expert pianist. He forced her to take part in the school concert but soon regretted his decision when she proceeded to hammer out nonsense. She also enlisted Joey's help to put a curse on Don and they were stunned when he was hospitalised. Then Casey collapsed as well and it transpired they were both victims of an incompetent murder attempt by Don's ex-wife Barbara, who had poisoned the house's hand wash.
Casey soon gained an older boyfriend in the form of Curtis Reed
. The pair weren't entirely adverse to causing trouble and one occasion were actually believed dead after another couple stole Curtis' motorbike and crashed it. When Jenna Evans arrived in town and proved to be the double of Curtis' late girlfriend Laura Bonnetti, Curtis quickly took up with her without giving much thought to the fact that he and Casey were supposed to be together. Casey rebounded by kissing Liam, who had recently split with Stephanie, but they decided against taking it any further.
Along with Liam and Joey, Casey was present when Stephanie was fatally injured in a bushwalking accident. She still seemed to be holding a torch for Liam and was visibly upset when he left the Bay not long after. When Tiegan Brook arrived in town and made her interest in Joey clear, Casey was somewhat put out - although she didn't actually like Joey like that, she had got used to him being interested in her and didn't like being displaced in his affections. She asked Joey out and got into a fight with Tiegan which landed them both in detention. Afterwards, she stepped aside to let Joey and Tiegan get together.
She wasn't to remain single for long as she began dating new boy Aaron Welles. Around this time, with Marilyn having fallen pregnant, Don tried to get Casey to leave the house only for her to learn from Aaron's sister Justine
that he needed to give her two months' notice. She decided to get her own back on Don by convincing him he was going senile, sabotaging the kitchen light, and was horrified when as a result Rebecca fell off a chair while changing it and was left temporarily deaf.
When Casey and Aaron was mugged, she was horrified when Aaron went out and bought a knife to protect himself and got Travis to talk him into getting rid of it. Along with Joey, Aaron and their friend Kim Rose, Casey was largely responsible for leading the class in an increasingly bitter feud with student teacher Brett Egan. Casey received a message from her father inviting her to go and live with him in New York
so when the group planned their final trick, superglueing Brett to his seat, she offered to take the blame since it was her last day anyway. Don was furious when he found out, taking the entire class to task and every time Casey tried to claim sole responsibility he gave them an extra week's detention. Finally acknowledging Casey, he told her she was getting her classmates a punishment she wouldn't share and that no-one wanted her there, ordering her to leave the school immediately. They failed to put the argument aside before she left the Bay.
