Cathy Areu is an American author, journalist and frequent news analyst who has appeared on HLN's Showbiz Tonight, HLN's Prime News, CNN's Campbell Brown, CNN's AC360, Fox News O'Reilly Factor, MSNBC's Daily Countdown and RussiaToday's CrossTalk. She has been a contributing editor for the Washington Post Magazine since 2000, and is the founding publisher of CATALINA magazine.
Areu, who was born in Summit, New Jersey, is the daughter of Cuban immigrants, an electronic engineer and a mathematician.
