The racial makeup of the town was 98.72% White, 0.93% African American, and 0.35% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.23% of the population.
There were 368 households out of which 28.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.7% were married couples
living together, 15.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% were non-families. 31.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.90.
In the town the population was spread out with 21.6% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 21.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 90.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.7 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $23,250, and the median income for a family was $27,604. Males had a median income of $27,361 versus $22,222 for females. The per capita income

Like all small communities Cedar Grove does have its cliques, but these cliques are not so far apart as to instill hatred or envy among its citizens. If one resident were to get a new car, his/her neighbors would remain happy for them.
