History
The original lighthouse burned down in 1929 in suspicious circumstances and was rebuilt using the surviving material, however the engineer, Michel le Maq superstitiously demanded that the material from the rear of the lighthouse be used on the front and the front on the rear. The reconstructed lighthouse was not as popular as before and the 40 foot granite lighthouse was eventually decommissioned in 1934.
