The test is 68 questions with a 90 minute time limit. A minimum score of 608 out of 800 is required to pass. Results are given immediately after completion of the exam.

After passing the test, Novell will e-mail the candidate an official certification certificate. The candidate is assigned a certification number that can be used in conjunction with a login to the Novell web site's certification community pages which include access to the official program mark and other resources.

According to the Novell web site, a person planning to pursue the Certified Novell Administrator should have a strong knowledge of networking fundamentals before trying to earn the certification. In addition, Novell recommends that candidates take CompTIA
