Geography

Chagallu is a nice village & mandal in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, which gave some prominent personalities to the world. This town has two big industries: one is VVS Sugars Ltd (The Jeypore Sugars Ltd), and another one is the Distillery Division of the Jeypore Sugars Ltd. M/s. Krishna Industrial Corporation Ltd started construction of a CO2 Plant here.

Movie director V.V.Vinayak is pride of Chagallu. He is a prominent director in Tollywood.
Route : from Rajahmundry it is about 20 km. Rajahmundry to Pangidi (a highway town). From Pangidi to Chagallu 3 km (towards Nidadavole).

Chagallu special

Chagallu town is famous for "Vinayakachaturdhi vutsavam". Here "Vinayaka Chaviti Navaratrulu" celebrated for 9 days from starting day of vinayaka chavithi. There are two temples of Lord Ganesha here. The devoties of Lord Ganesha will conduct navaratrulu here. Navaratrulu programs of two temples are separate but with mutual understanding. They also conduct cultural programs and give merit scholarships to those who performed well in their studies. One of the famous Telugu festival "Sri Subramanya Swami Kalyanam(Shasti)" also celebrated here in a grand way, during Dec or Jan. It's a historical temple and one of "Sri Saraswathi temples"(very few in our state) is here. And also "Kanaka Durga Temple" is famous at Matam Charuvu, it celebrate as well as Vijayawada Temple 9 days programme. And most important Vutsav is "Grama Devata Vutsav". it's comming every 12 years once only. The next year is 2019-20.
