Charles Hill-Tout

Charles Hill-Tout was an amateur anthropologist, active in Canada.
Born in England on 28 September, 1858, he studied theology before emigrating to Canada, becoming a headmaster of a school, then taking land in the Fraser Valley. His published works include reports collected in Ralph Maud's four volume study on the Salish people, and his 1907 work The Native Races of British North America: The Far West. He died June 30th 1944 at Vancouver.
