appointed him auxiliary bishop
of the Grand Rapids Diocese and he was consecrated on March 6, 1962. On January 10, 1968, Pope Paul VI
appointed Salatka Bishop of the Marquette Diocese. Pope Paul VI appointed Bishop Salatka Archbishop of the Oklahoma City Archdiocese on October 11, 1977, and he retired on November 24, 1992.
