Saint Charles of Sezze born Giancarlo Marchioni, was an Italian Franciscan lay brother.
He lived the life of a lay brother of the order, never requesting or receiving ordination to the priesthood. He died in Rome

Brother Charles was recognized as having lived a life of outstanding holiness as a lay brother, was beatified 212 years later by Pope Leo XIII
in the year 1882, and was canonized by Pope John XXIII
on 12 April 1959.
Saint Charles's feast day is on 6 January. If the Epiphany is celebrated on that day, the celebration of Saint Charles is moved to the day before or the day after.
