Charlesland has about 1,500 houses and apartments, a neighbourhood shopping complex with supermarket, hairdressers, pizza take-away, a pharmacy, and also a number of pre-schools and a large sports and recreation complex. A major new shopping centre, retail warehousing, primary school and garda station may be built in the future (planning application with An Bord Pleanala as of March 2008).
