Chhabildas Mehta was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 17 February 1994 to 14 March 1995
He entered in the politics by joining the Praja Samajwadi party. Later he joined Congress. He was in the cabinet of Chimanbhai Patel
and he has been made Chief Minister of [Gujarat] after the sudden death of Chimanbhai Patel
. In May 2001, he resigned from the Congress to join the NCP
. He died on 29 November, 2008 in Ahmedabad
