 fish. They are fresh-water fish native to Africa, and are sufficiently abundant to be a significant food fish.

They are deep-bodied, silvery fish, measuring up to 84 centimetres (33.1 in) in length and weighing up to 18 kilograms (39.7 lb). They are filter-feeders.
