. They have a mix of athletes from varied cultural backgrounds from ages 8 year olds to seniors and veterans. The club caters for athletes of all ages, ethnicity, and abilities to develop their potential in the range of disciplines that athletics offers.

The club provides free coaching, in a fun and friendly atmosphere, from UK Athletics qualified coaches in track & field, road, cross country or race walking, to help athletes realise their potential. The club has the use of Sheffield

History

The origins of the club go back to 1894 when the Sheffield United Harriers club was formed, a combined cross country and walking club.

. This was a breakaway club from the Hallamshire Harriers. In 1975 this club amalgamated with Sheffield United Harriers to form Sheffield Athletics Club,In 2000 the athletic club joined forces with the highly successful Sheffield Race Walking Club, and subsequently renamed the club, City of Sheffield Athletic Club competing in blue and green vests, the colours of the city of Sheffield.
The club quickly established itself as the top senior athletics club in Yorkshire, became a member of the British Athletics League
