. It underwent many renovations, especially in the year 2000, when Desportivo das Aves reached the Portuguese first division. When the stadium was built, there were 12,500 seats available, but it currently seats only 7,000 after the club decided to remove chairs.
The Estádio do Clube Desportivo das Aves was one of the training grounds of the French national team
during the UEFA Euro 2004, which was played in Portugal.
Due to its small seating capacity, games at this stadium can be very intense with fan groups like Força Avense, which are very passionate about the team, and whose chants can be heard throughout the stadium.
